SES Connect SharePoint 2010 - Quick Start
If you are using a Windows 7 iSolutions managed machine then you can go here to get started - https://sp2010.soton.ac.uk:80/sites/sesconnect
IMPORTANT - IF YOU HAVE A WINDOWS XP UDE MACHINE THEN CONTACT KENJI TAKEDA (ktakeda@soton.ac.uk) FOR HELP, AS IT MAY NOT WORK CORRECTLY.
IMPORTANT for non-UDE Users
If using a non-UDE machine you will get a certificate error. You must go here first:
http://certrequest.soton.ac.uk/trust.crt and (for Internet Explorer) follow the wizard choosing to install the downloaded certificate into the advanced store named “Trusted Root Certification Authorities”, or (for FireFox) simply choose to ‘Trust for Web’
Note: This will work with Internet Explorer v7+, FireFox, Chrome and Safari. Crucially, IE6 will NOT work.
To log into SES Connect intranet, go here and login with your email username and password.

Note you have to prefix your username with ‘soton’ to work:
soton\username
When you view the My Profile page, or download a document, you may be requested for your login credentials again. Store these credentials locally (e.g. in FireFox) so you do not have to type them in again.
Off-campus access
You must use the alternative University VPN to access SharePoint 2010 at the moment. So setup a VPN using the following access server (NOT vpn.soton.ac.uk):
sucs-ras.soton.ac.uk
