The Microsoft Institute for High Performance Computing at Southampton, run by Professor Simon Cox and me, develops and deploys novel tools and technologies to improve the engineering design process. We coined the term High Productivity Computing which aims to optimise the overall end-to-end process for users, be they scientists, engineers, or business people.
